This recipe is a twist of the Classic Japanese Matcha Latte that I first posted. It's fascinating to think that you just need to change one ingredient and the recipe benefits will change.

Strengthening the Spleen and Stomach:

The rice-hazelnut milk will not only give a natural sweet and nutty flavor, but it will add up some benefits to the digestive system. I can't highlight enough the importance of a strong digestive system. Remember, good digestion is essential for absorbing nutrients, which in turn supports overall energy production in your body.

Nourishing the Qi:

Hazelnuts and rice help nourish and strengthen the Qi (vital energy), which is essential for overall vitality and health.

Supporting Kidney Health:

Hazelnuts are also great to support kidney function, which is crucial for maintaining balance and vitality in the body.

The Late Summer season, it's the perfect season to nurture digestion, so this recipe should be your go-to option during this time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of rice-hazelnut milk (at least needs to have 3% of hazelnut percentage)

  • 1g of Matcha Powder (approx. 1 tsp)

  • Hot water (just enough to dissolve the powder)

Directions:

  1. Sift your matcha so it is lump-free.

  2. Spoon the matcha into a large mug. Add the hot water (if you boil it wait until it cools down, water needs to be at approx. 80ºC, so it doesn’t affect the matcha properties) and whisk briskly, making a W motion, until frothy - about 30 seconds or so.

  3. Warm the rice-hazelnut milk and add it.

  4. Mix until well combined.

Especially Good For

Anyone that suffers from lack of appetite, abdominal bloating, craving sweets, overall digestive problems.

Also anyone that suffers from fatigue, lack of concentration, tends to have water retention, feels always hot and thirst.

TIP

If you have cold hands and feet (in TCM means that you have a more Yin Body Type Constitution), don’t drink it every day. Intercalate with other hot beverages.
